Public Relations

Córdova Public Relations uses a strategic public relations planning approach to determine the most effective public relations methods to reach your goal.

Media Relations

We maintain a close, working relationship with New Mexico's print and electronic media. We understand the operations and needs of the media and apply this understanding to meet your objectives.

Opinion-leader Outreach

We also emphasize an indirect way of reaching the public -- facilitating opinion-leader support through one-on-one contact with the people most likely to influence public opinion. We can assist your organization in identifying and setting meetings with opinion leaders and by targeting key people to receive information about your organization or issue.

Issues Management, Tracking and Analysis

We approach issues by developing a background memorandum, followed by a Q & A and fact sheet. These research-based documents help identify problems, their possible solutions, and often shed light on the client's strengths and weaknesses in responding to the issues at hand. The background memorandum process allows the communication effort to move forward with a unified voice.

We maintain contact with and membership in numerous organizations -- to receive literature and to identify near- and long-term trends and challenges. These include universities; think tanks; and trade associations and business groups, such as the Association of Commerce and Industry, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, Albuquerque Economic Development, the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, and the Economic Forum; and environmental activist groups such as Southwest Organizing Project, the Southwest Research and Information Center, 1000 Friends of New Mexico, and the Sierra Club.

Community Involvement Networking

Part of our monitoring / scanning requires that we attend public meetings and public events. Our familiarity with these forums enables us to help our clients prepare for hearings, public and community forums, town halls and other public venues. In addition, we maintain contact with key leaders in both political parties and with key leaders in government, such as the congressional offices, governor's office and cabinet heads. We assist in organizing and mobilizing "grass roots" and "grass tops" support for a client's objectives through our approach to community involvement.
