Martha Buddecke, Senior Associate

Ms. Buddecke is an experienced writer, researcher, public affairs strategist and government relations specialist.  She has devised public relations and media plans and public affairs strategies for Senator Pete V. Domenici, Congressman David Livingston of Louisiana and as public information officer for the City of Albuquerque.  Her work entailed counsel on how to position her clients in the most favorable way before the public.  She has provided media training for national, regional and local media appearances (both speech and video).  She has written extensively for video and radio scripts, public speeches and op-ed articles.

Prior to her work with Hirst Córdova Public Relations, she was Vice President for Government Affairs for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).  She was with SAIC from 1991 through 2004 when she retired.  Her work with SAIC involved obtaining funding for homeland security programs, counter-terrorism training programs and pursuing emerging business development opportunities for New Mexico through Congressional initiatives.  She also represented SAIC with New Mexico state government agencies and the legislature.

While working for Senator Domenici she led the effort to organize corporate, university and government executives to form New Mexico Technet.  She also helped conceive and organize New Mexico First.
